My name is Jody and I am a 38 year old still acting like a 28 year old. That means I like to whine and get things my way but I am in the process of trying to change all that (no offense to you ‘got it together’ 20 something’s). You see, a few years a go I decided to take my relationship with God a bit more serious. Of course this started with the decision that I was tired of feeling different. I felt weird living for me all the time when I knew that was wrong. It felt weird because I was just too chicken to go all the way over the deep end and give up on God. So step by step I decided to lean a little more on His ways instead of mine.

Boy, does He have a sense of humor. Talk about taking something and running with it. I find myself 8 years later down that road as a pastor. I am actually in charge of the spiritual well being of other people. I was, up until recently, working as the Associate Campus Pastor for the Wellington Campus of LifeChurch.tv but now I am the Campus/Journey Group Pastor for Oakleaf Church. Now if you are one of my High School or College friends you can stop laughing now. You see! God still does miracles! He takes broken and ignorant people and gives them a new start on life. He will even take the class clown that was so concerned with getting people to like him that he never spent the time to develop a real relationship with anyone.

This blog is about helping me process out what’s on my mind (you see it’s about me). But in the midst of some ramblings and observations there are some things to take notice. God, in His greatness, blessed this man with a sense of connectedness and a desire to learn. I like to view people and situations and figure out how it all fits and why it works the way it does. These attributes get me in trouble sometimes because it tends to make me daydream a little too much. In the end I would love to see these things have a pattern over time and at least have a purpose besides tying up my brainwaves with a lot of clutter.

So here’s the jist;

If you know me then you know one of my favorite sayings is, “What’s up with that?” Call it curiosity or call it a desire to understand the things I see but this is a constant question running in my head. As life goes on, I know that the lens through which I view life changes but the one thing that doesn’t change are the eyes of the soul. They have an understanding about the underlying concept of truth. This truth I hope and believe is the same as the one that says “I am the truth…” Life has a center and an ongoing current called Truth. He is also the agent of creation and through Him all things are made. Therefore, I need to connect this stuff we call LIFE to Him – Yeshua, Jesus, the Christ, the living God. Let’s discover these patterns together and see what we can learn.
